The Theatre guide refers to “theatre makers”. These are identified as the specialist roles of:
- creator
- designer
- director
- performer
As an IB Theatre student, you must develop your knowledge and understanding of the demands of each of these roles within the creative process. You will be required to demonstrate your ability to approach theatre making from each of these perspectives within the assessment tasks.

---|---|---|
Task 1 | Solo theatre piece (HL only) |

Some of the roles overlap. These roles work in collaboration with each other and the skill set of one complements and enriches the work of another. As a HL student you will be expected to adopt all of these roles simultaneously for the purpose of the assessment of Task 1 ‘Solo theatre piece’.
